Snug as a Bug Blankie
I have been concentrating on the Snug as a Bug entrelac blankie for the past week or so. This is 15 tiers. I need to make two more. Then I can...start a new project, or work on poor lil Ariann

I got into Ravelry on Saturday, and have already made friends, loaded books, yarn, projects, etc. I also took the Which LOLcat are you? quiz. Since I can't stay away from I Can Has Cheezburger? Hmm, I am Sad Cookie Cat...
72% Affectionate, 40% Excitable, 57% Hungry
"You are the classic Shakespearian tragedy of the lolcat universe. The sad story of a baking a cookie, succumbing to gluttony, and in turn consuming the very cookie that was to be offered. Bad grammar ensues."
I have finally finished my first Summer of Socks socks. There have been many, um, distractions along the way, such as entrelac, sweaters and other sock yarn. 2.75mm SHARP pointed Knit Picks circs, Panda Cotton in Strawberries and Limes, Carolina Last Queen of Naples pattern.
Today's sky is over a soybean field, the first year this field has not been in cotton.
On my way to my office to work on an article (so far I have blogged and Ravelry-ed) I was stopped by a flock of Canada Geese crossing the road in front of the Piedmont, AL, high school. Man, I almost left the camera out after taking the Saturday Sky shot. Edited to add: OMG! I stopped this morning to see what was in the road. It was a HUGE zucchini! I picked it up and moved it to the side of the road, lest it hurt somebody's car or something. Nice representation on Laurie's blog. Where did it come from?
I picked up a new sock yarn at Knit Night at the Taming of the Ewe last night. The rest of the evening, I worked on the entrelac baby blankie and tried to convince everyone around me that doing entrelac is not complicated.
This is Kollage Luscious cotton yarn in Island Birds. More info here.
I also worked on the entrelac scarf. Looks a little blurry, but the colors are what's important here. Plymouth Boku 4 and Kureyon 170. I ignored the two socks.
Look, I has found a Web site for the easily amused and easily distracted. Sorry, I has spent too much time on I Can Has Cheezburger.
Also, what was the name of the Flickr group I joined? Something about distractions and shiny... (Solidarity League of Creative Women Distracted by ooooh! Shiny!)
In other news, "378 people are ahead of you in line." From Ravelry this morning.
Knitting looks about the same except I got so tired of one color entrelac on the blankie, I went back to the entrelac scarf with Kureyon so I could see color changes.
I have gotten past the gusset decreases on both the Feather and Fan sock in K1C2 Soxx Appeal and the second Carolina sock.in Panda Cotton. I stopped working on the Carolina sock for a while, as the Knit Picks needle has made a hole in my thumb. It was OK knitting with the blunter Addis, unless I poked the sore place on my thumb.
When I got sick of socks, I went out and finally put the poor basil in the garden.
This is what the sky over Jacksonville State University looked like around 11:30 Friday morning. The view is from the library's west
9th floor balcony. I ran to get a photo of the rain approaching, but it moved too fast for me
Here is an artsy shot from the east balcony. The orangy blobs are lights in the parking lot. The rectangles are lights in the library ceiling.
.

For my next sock, I volunteered to try out K1C2's Soxx Appeal yarn. I wanted a pattern that looked like water, as that is what the yarn made me think of. It is Oceana, 9627. I tried Stillwater, Wildhorse Designs. Too small, pattern too subtle for this colorway. I tried a River Ripple pattern. Couldn't do it, kept messing up. I think the Feather and Fan will work.
Knitting going on, that is. I have felt guilty about not working on the entrelac blankie.Since the Rocketry cardi and cotton bibs are done and mailed, I went back to this halfway done afghan. Snug as a Bug, in Kertzer Kool Kotton (50/50 cotton and acrylic)
I sewed another sockie bag today, right before DH and I left for the theater to see the new Harry Potter movie. DH got a new electric chainsaw at Sears in the mall, too. I was so careful to get the kitty cats right side up with the zipper. Then I got the handle on the wrong end.. Oh well. This is a box bag from Simplicity 9949, and I think next time I will make a little bit larger bag. I got 9 purse zippers from Zipperstop.com. When we got home, the CueCat scanner from Library Thing was here. It doesn't read like the Symbol scanners I'm used to in the library. DH has been on a quest to find and add books no one else has. There are a lot of Star Trek fans on LT, apparently. One book on Ancient Rome he got today was not found on Amazon or Library of Congress.
We got home around sunset
