I am enjoying my Austermann Step 05 Yarn with Aloe and Jojoba oil, in a basic sock pattern. It is nice after patterned socks, but the yarn sure feels thin after the last two heavier ones. I am past the heel. Why, yes, my African violets are blooming again.
I got my first shipment from the Fearless Fibers Seven Deadly Sins sock yarn club from Deb. On the left is Wrath, "dominated by brilliant red, peppered with fiery shades of burnt orange and tinged with yellow." And on the right is Gluttony, with milk chocolate and caramel. They came with little gift tags with feet on them. This was nice to find in my mailbox on my first day back at work. I got other stuff for my SP11. I have had fun shopping for her.
I have finished the Fools Rush Socks. (on right sidebar) Don't expect this pace of production when I go back to work tomorrow. Colinette Jitterbug Toscano, addi Turbos size 1. The second sock seemed to have more red and blue in it. I cast on for a plain ol' sock in Austermann Step. It feels funny to work on thinner fingering yarn again.
Also, when returning from the photo shoot, I found a rhinoceros. My first thought was that must be a rhinoceros beetle, and DH agreed. It was dead when I posed it. Lady, our 40-year-old mare, was in the garden nearby, but the lens was fogged over when I took her photo..
I finished the first Fools Rush socks (right sidebar under Free Patterns) in Colinette Jitterbug Toscano colorway on Friday evening, but did not get around to photographing it until now. There have been thunderstorms necessitating the unplugging of the modem, etc. I have two pattern repeats done on the second sock.
Here is the Fools Rush sock in Colinette Jitterbug on Friday afternoon.
Lookie what came in the mail. Foxglove Sock! superwash merino from :Lisa Souza. I intend to make Campanula for the Cure with it-even though it is toe-up. Go sponsor Ramona in the 2007 Weekend to End Breast Cancer, and get the pattern! Hurry, it's in early September.
Do I see...
I picked tomatoes this morning. I perspired a bit, as my sister said ladies don't sweat.
Hee hee. As soon as I finished my last sock (and ran errands, etc.) I cast on with the Colinette Jitterbug yarn for Fools Rush Socks. (pdf) I found this pattern in Ravelry by looking to see what pattern people used with Jitterbug. It has an eyelet lace ribbing, which is pretty neat, and a lace pattern down the side. I have done one pattern repeat. The Jitterbug, Toscano colorway, is very tightly twisted and feels lush. May use Koigu for toes so I won't worry about running out of yarn.
