    Mr. Greenjeans in Blue

So I frogged Ariann, and I am using the TLC Cotton Plus periwinkle yarn to knit Mr. Greenjeans from the current Knitty. However, I am contemplating using the chevron lace pattern like Ariann, like in Tater's Cotton Cardi, instead of the rib and cable pattern. I am at the sleeve divide here. DH and I got out of the house today and went to Books-a-Million, Outback and Big Lots. I had salmon and he had steak. I even got a cute Riders denim shirt at Big Lots for $5. Woo hoo!

    Blue Sky and Sock Redux

Today the sky was clear and blue, and I worked on my Saxon sock in Knit Picks Essential Tweed Marina. I am not really following the pattern. just the idea. This is the cable from Samus.  I went to Rome, GA for a meeting of the NWGA Knitters. Only Betsey and I showed up, then we met Jamie when we adjourned to Panera. William, Jamie's son,  modeled his cute red and white striped raglan that Betsey made for him.

    Miscellany

I frogged Ariann and cast on for another felted pumpkin last night. Ariann lives on, on this blog and Ravelry. I started Mr. Greenjeans from Knitty the other day, with the yarn that was formerly Ariann. I can do top-down raglans, bottom-up not so much.

I donated to several worthy causes, including Aimee's Walk with Us to Cure Lupus. I read about Aimee on Wendy's blog, and probably saw her in Atlanta at the Yarn Harlot event. There are lots of yummy prizes being donated. Check out the Web site.

Oh yeah, I said I was knitting more pumpkins. The bigger one is from  Carol Bristol's Felted Pumpkin Pair in Lion Wool Pumpkin, and the smaller one is the Minature Felted Pumpkin from Wool Windings, in Wool of the Andes Pumpkin. The leaf and tendril are in Patons Classic Wool.

    Wild & Crazy Monkey Socks

Kinda have some assembly required. Yes, I have stumbled across the real sock pr0n sites while looking for wildly colored Monkey Socks from Cookie's Knitty pattern. I did enjoy my first pair of Monkeys, and I did not have to e-mail Cookie in confusion, as I did with the Pomotamus p-socks. Anyways, Beth has inspired me, so I dove into the sock stash looking for wild colored yarn, and I came up with Interlacements Little Toes in Carbon Dioxide. (I also have their Tiny Toes in Las Vegas Brights, but this yarn is older.) Whattya think? Will this do?

    New Acquisitions

Today I got the second installment of my Fearless Fibers Seven Deadly Sins Sock Yarn Club. Meet Sloth and Lust. Sloth is the light blue and grey one, and Lust is the rich purply-eggplant one.

Also, today I got my punkin stitch markers from Mousie Masala. Click for larger. (Mouse sent the candy corn as a gift for a mailing delay, which I wouldn't have noticed, what with running off to Atlanta mid-week to see the Yarn Harlot.) She is on Etsy too. Etsy is getting to be dangerous for me. I love all the handmade things.

    Another Entrelac Scarf

So I finished one entrelac scarf and started another. This is my third. Thanks for the pattern, Allison. This one is the Noro Silk Garden 251 for my sister.

    The Rest of the Scarf

OK, here is what the rest of my Kureyon/Boku scarf looks like. I immediately cast on for another one in Silk Garden 251 that my sister bought for herself, for me to knit, at Knitch in Atlanta. Click for larger.

    Entrelac Done

I started this scarf in June-right before I taught a class in entrelac. I finished a store sample scarf and a baby afghan in entrelac along the way. Today it is my scarf's turn. It is made from 2 skeins of Kureyon, 170 and 92, and 2 skeins of Plymouth Boku in 1 and 10, I think. This is the best I can do until tomorrow and daylight. Pattern is from Freckles & Purls.

    More Yarn

    Yarns
I ordered this from Webs. The two in the back are part of six skeins of Ella Rae Wool that I wanted to use for Mr. Greenjeans from the new Knitty, but now I think I might use a solid. I have 2-3 sweaters worth of yarn now, but this was $2.99. It is pink, gray and green. In the front is Online Supersocke 100 in Holiday Color. My next Fearless Fibers Sock Yarn Club yarn is on its way. I did not look too hard at the sock yarn at Knitch. I am still remembering the WALL of NORO, though.

I Knit With the Yarn Harlot

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt to prove it!

I also survived driving into Atlanta and getting a bit lost. Deep breath. I got a few inches done on my second Austermann Step sock. First things first, though. After driving around and around the block where the Gaslight Inn is located, (really close to the LYS and the theater) meeting up with my sister, and eating lunch at 3, then it was shopping at Knitch. My sister, the muggle and writer, has lots of material now. Below is yard, er yarn art by the door at Knitch: Oh oh! I met Turtle Girl., of the eponymous Bloggy Thing. I recognized her socks before I saw her turtle backpack. I met Elizabeth of Knit in Your Pants at breakfast. We attended the same college at the same time, I think.

I got some tangerine Cascade Paztazo or something like that-50% llama/50% wool. Maybe I shall make a pumpkin!

    Another souvenir was Kuryeon 209

After that, my sister and I joined the line to get into the Hilan Theatre. The entrance is cleverly hidden by Ben and Jerry's and Starbucks. A kid riding by on his bike yelled,  "Oh my goodness, all THAT line for ice cream?" My peeps, y'all.

Really bad photo of Stephanie Pearl-McPhee photographing her sock in front of the audience, reportedly 600 or more. Oh yeah! With all those people, I ended up sitting by a knitter, Nacole, from my group that meets in Rome, GA. She and her DH were first in line for the first book signing.  (The Rome Michael's has Lion pumpkin wool for $1a skein, but I digress.) What is with my flash? I brightened it and played with the exposure. Sigh. Stephanie has great comedic timing, and opened with, "Before I forget, AAARRRRR!" It was International Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Then... we hung out at Starbucks and went back to Knitch to wait for the late book signing. By the time Stephanie got to me after 10 pm, when she was signing all four of my books and lamenting, "Why is my name so LONG?" all I could come up with to say was, "Stephanie, can I take your picture with my sock?" All the clever things I had thought of  saying dissolved from my brain. That's my Austerman Step sock  in the foreground.  Y'all, when I uploaded the pix, this one did not transfer. I discovered it still on the camera, after being sad and upset for a minute. BTW, the wall behind her has shelves full of all kinds of Noro yarn.
