    Is There a Full Moon?

That is what I asked about some of the library regulars last week, but I think it applies to my sock yarn buying as well.  First, I ordered some Alpaca Sox alpaca/merino/nylon from Classic Elite, in Fruit Salad. Although, for some reason, when I was out taking pictures, I got "Polk Salad Annie" in my head. Click for larger.

Then, I have been reading Smatterings blog for a while, and have resisted her Ball & Skein yarn until the other day when I had to have Fallen Leaves sock yarn. Isn't it pretty and autumnal?  Click for larger.  I also ordered some Zen String Lotus Toes BFL in Sedona.  It is not here yet

Pineapple Cam! (and More Felted Punkins)

First, here is what the pineapple looks like today.

Next, I finally felted the Pumpkins I had knitted earlier. The smaller yellowish one is Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Pumpkin. The pattern is free, Wool Windings'  Miniature Felted Pumpkin. The larger ones are from Carol Bristol's Felted Pumpkin Pair, (scroll down to see) in Cascade Pastaza Wool/Llama in Tangerine and Lion Wool in Pumpkin. The green top is Cascade 220

    Clearing

This is the view I kept seeing in front of me as  I drove to work Thursday. Those clouds were really moving. I had to stop, and drive up a hill into the middle of the Piedmont, AL cemetery to get this shot. It was still cloudy at JSU when I got to work. Click to view larger.

    One Monkey Sock

I have finished one Monkey Sock in Interlacements Little Toes in Carbon Dioxide.  It was a difficult photo shoot, as the light was fading fast, and I had to follow it around the yard, and dodge horse um, leavings, etc. Click for larger view. I had trouble and had to rip back whole 11 row pattern repeats at least twice. Then today, I ripped out the toe as it was too long, and redid it. I also ripped out the River Run sock toe, as it was too short. Sigh...

    A Very Good Mail Day

On Monday, I couldn't blog about so many presents and goodies arriving at once because there was a lot going on when the mail arrived, and then I had to leave for work, where I worked until 11 p.m. Tuesday night I could not blog because DH was giving his online class a test, and he gets testy when I lock up thes stupid machine by making the CPU run at 100% when editing photos.. (I have tried lots of things-am leaning toward a new computer or wiping the hard drive. We just don't feel like reinstalling everything.) Anyway, the post-person brought my Secret Pal 11 box AND my Tea Swap 4 box! I opened them, photo'd the goodies and left for work. This is everything together, still wrapped in its pretty papers. See the Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice Granola that I shamelessly asked for? 2 bags!  The pattern is Wendy's River Run Sock  (see sock toe in previous post) The cookbook is for itty bitty treats.

My SP's package was pink-themed for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It was all in the pink tote bag above. Hmm, what happened to my pink M&Ms? The yarn is Cheery, and the tea is Cherry. Cute cards with cats and yarn too. Yarn is from Handspun and Dyed... Too on Etsy. So pretty and pink.

My Tea Swap 4 package had yarn, too, and Assam and Yunnan teas. The mug is from Bauer Pottery in LA, a local item from my TS4 pal. The sky blue yarn is Shi Bui and the other is Regia from the Kaffe Fasset line. Didn't they both do a great job?

When I got to work, my Fearless Fibers Seven Deadly Sins Sock Yarn Club yarn was waiting for me. Pride and Envy. Guess which is which?

Last but not least, Linda, who I met at the Taming of the Ewe, Jacksonville, AL's LYS, left me a present in my office while I was not at work. As I told her, I love books, yarn, tea, stitch markers and bags, so this was perfect. There is pinky-purply hand-dyed sockie yarn, and matching pink-beadad stitch markers.  It finally feels like Fall here, so the bag is seasonal at last.

    New Socks, New Blossom

My Ness's Orange Pekoe African Violet bloomed for the first time the other day. This is the plant I got from Ebay. As a tea drinker, I had to have one of these for the name alone.

No, I haven't finished even one Monkey sock, but I am past the heel and gusset. but I got some new Harmony circs from Knit Picks, and I got some sock yarn (Pride) from Fearless Fibers Seven Deadly Sins Sock Club, and Wendy's River Run sock pattern. Turkish cast on survived, dreading W&T.

    Monkey Socks Progress

It is rainy and dark here, so I had to take inside photos. This is where I am on the first Wild & Crazy Monkey sock in Interlacements Little Toes, in colorway Carbon Dioxide. I have not posted in a while, due to such things as the death of my mother-in-law from pancreatic cancer, and DH and I going away for his birthday trip. It has been a long hectic few months around here, and we needed to get away for a couple of days.

    Monkeys Started

So after I finished the Step Socks, I started the Wild & Crazy Monkey socks, using the Cookie A.  pattern from Knitty. Yarn is Interlacements Little Toes in Carbon Dioxide. Knit Picks classic circs, 2.5mm (waiting for my Harmony 2.5mm, as I think this colorway needs those.)

    Two Step Socks

Two Austermann Step socks, that is. This is color 05, I believe. The second one needs the toe grafted, but I was losing the light, 'k? These socks went to see the Yarn Harlot in Atlanta. They match pretty well, considering what I had to go through.. I also have TWO matching balls of yarn left over. One ball was the yarn taken out to get the color sequences the same. The second ball of yarn was from the different color sequence following the KNOT near the heel. The colors after the knot were completely different, including a couple of black areas. Ya know, the photos I found on the yarn company's Web site didn't have matching stripes, hmmm. OK, now I can start the Carbon Dioxide Interlacements Little Toes Monkeys,   despite the fact I haven't gotten my Knit Picks Harmony circs.  They are shipped, after KP first said they were out of stock. Oh yeah, this blog is Pink for October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  I was a little slow to change my calendar pages, too.
