It has been soooo looong since I posted a Saturday Sky picture, that I have two today. The weather was nasty and gray yesterday, and the same is predicted for tomorrow, but look at today!

Also, broccoli can be pretty with sun and raindrops. It ia just beginning to get floret-sized heads on it.

    Maine Morning Mitts

I finished my Maine Morning Mitts from one skein of South West Trading Co.'s Karaoke, 50% wool and Soysilk. I made no attempt to match stripes, but I did cut the blue and add purple at the top of the second one.

Also, one of the amaryllis buds is starting to open a bit.

    More Gifts

The weather was so yucky and cold and rainy yesterday that we postponed giving the dogs their Christmas treats. Today is great for photo opps. I finished one Maine Morning Mitt and started the other.

    Merry Christmas, Everyone!

DH got me my entire Amazon wish list, I believe. From left to right, Not Your Mother's Slow-Cooker Cookbook For Two (I have three Crock-Pots in varying sizes), Teach Yourself Visually Knitting Design, One Skein, Obsession, Deceit and Very Dark Chocolate; Vogue's Ultimate Sock Book, and Sheila MacGregor's Traditional Scandinavian Knitting.

I have been trying to use up some stash yarn, so I started Maine Morning Mitts with Karaoke (50% wool, 50% Soysilk.) . Somewhere there is purple in this skein. Match? ha.

    Annetrelac Sock Moving Along

What other three socks I have on the needles. The Shaped Cardigan is resting  comfortably beside me as I knit on the Annetrelac Socks. I have finished the entrelac section of the first sock. I usually lose interest after finishing the heel and gusset. Winter Chill colorway  sock yarn from Thank Ewe! on Etsy. the yarn is a little soft and fuzzy, kinda like a mohair halo, I guess.

Gratuitous Amaryllis Photos, Xmas Tree and Etc.

We got a new ornament for the Christmas tree, a gift from friends. BTW, DH's sister gave us a trip to Las Vegas for Xmas. It is so nice to go in March for Spring Break, when the temps can be half what they are in the summer- like 112 degrees F.

The amaryllis are still buds, but are getting taller. The other greenery is my rosemary cuttings, with which I always have trouble. We have not seen the sun for days, so I had to do something when it came out.

And oh yes, I keep forgetting to post that our bank was robbed Thursday at midmorning, by men armed with a pistol and assault rifle. DH is usually there around that time. The bag of money was thrown out in the middle of Main Street when red dye started spurting from it. You can see photos here if you desire. It's the most wonderful time of the year, right?

    Still Baking

I had to make DH a sour cream  pound cake for Christmas.  I tried for some more artistic shots. The nonstick Bundt pan did not let go readily last time, so I sprayed the pan with the Bakers Joy stuff with flour in it, and the cake slid right out. The knitting does not look any different, so here is a pound cake.

    Winter Chill Entrelac

I love this yarn's colors. It is Winter Chill, from Thank Ewe. It reminds me of mint candies. The pattern is the Annetrelac Socks from Interweave Knits Holiday issue. I had been wanting to start this sock for a while, but was afraid to try, as I had trouble with an entrelac sock before. I felt more confident after finishing the Entrelac Stocking. The sock is displayed on a cedar sock blocker from Fearless Fibers. It makes my sock smell good.

    Entrelac Stocking

Well. I mostly followed the pattern. Except for the heel (short row on the pattern) and the colors and the colorwork on the foot, hee hee! It was nice to be able to practice entrelac in the round  in worsted before I try it in sock yarn. This is all Cascade 220 from stash.  DH says it's a rasta stocking, mon.

    Yet More Entrelac

I have finished the entrelac section of the stocking. The heel is next, after picking up stitches around the bottom.
