Supper and Socks

I finished my Luxor socks, and photographed them. Then I picked up windfall peaches and picked some peaches, and cut up some for my yogurt. I cut up the rest and put Fruit Fresh on them and put them in the fridge. Then I got around to the photos uploaded from two cameras. Luxor socks from Ann Hanson at Knitspot.com, Ruby Sapphire Luster merino/tencel yarn in Darlene.

Lest you think I am out here having it easy with my photo shoots, I will tell you that there are obstacles. Not to mention my leg is bleeding where some insect bit me. Peanut bites too.

For the supper part of my post, I made Pizza Caprese with the fresh Mozzarella I got at Kroger, 40 minutes away in GA. I had to pick Romas and basil from the garden. Cookie and Peanut supervised.

Then work continues on my chocolate Nanners. The yarn is Gluttony from Fearless Fibers Seven Deadly Sins club. The prop is the avocado tree from the pit of the one I used for guacamole on Super Bowl Sunday. I thought it suitably tropical.

I Haz a Second Sock

Oh noes, I have been looking at silly kitty cat photos. It affects my brain. Anyway, I did find something else besides puppies to try out the Eye-Fi card again. I had to shoo the dogs out of the photo.  It was really neat to walk up to the computer and see the photos appearing on the screen, like my second Luxor here.

Dogs (and Pineapple) on Thursday

"Mom, do ya hafta keep taking pictures of me?" She's probably wondering where I put that bag of Puppy Chow.

Scarf Shot

I got a new toy in the mail, an Eye-Fi 2GB wifi memory card for the D50. It transfers photos to the computer using my wireless network. I didn't get the one that transfers photos to Web sites, like Flickr. While I was outside waking up puppies, the photos transferred to my hard drive. Squeee! Not great, but they are there, without trying every USB port on the machine. I got so many hits when searching Google for this Dell 2004 model and non-working USB ports it was scary.

Pups
Busted! I did not even see Buddy in the chair. Doesn't he look guilty? How 'bout that sleepy Cookie pup?

I have been looking for this photo. I finally remembered I took it before I removed the old card from the camera, duh!

Toe Up!

I started two sock toes yesterday. This is the one that I liked better. I almost have the Turkish Cast On memorized. This is Fearless Fibers' Gluttony from the Seven Deadly Sins sock yarn club. It is soft and fuzzy and looks like caramel and cream and chocolate. I call this my Chocolate Covered Nanners sock. This is my first Harmony 40" cable needle. I forgot about the size of the loops, so used to 32" ones.

Bruschetta!

I finally went to the store and got some Parmesan cheese for pesto. The recipe I use is from Weight Watchers New Complete Cookbook. I did add a tablespoon more oil, as I did not follow the recipe and had trouble with getting the basil chopped in the food processor. I just spread pesto on my homemade French bread, and topped it with tomatoes with a little balsamic vinegar.

I worked some more on the entrelac scarf last night, and my hand and arm are sore. Next time I will not cut up the tomatoes for sauce before chopping them in the blender. I went back to smaller needles and started a toe up sock, but did not like the pattern with the yarn and frogged it.

Saturday Sky and Tomatoes

I spotted this view from the 12th floor west windows of the Houston Cole Library last Sunday. My first thought was, "Man, I wish I had my camera." Wait, then I remembered my cell phone was in my pocket.

Today, I have done a little bit on the entrelac scarf I started long ago. It still looks pretty much the same. So instead of knitting, a photo essay on tomatoes. I picked tomatoes and made two batches of tomato sauce that came out kinda orange. I wonder why. LOL.

Basket
A heavy little basket of basil and tomatoes. Cookie stays away from basil, guess it repels puppies as well as Japanese beetles.

Colander
There are red Romas. The green is a basil leaf.

A photo of bruschetta in the new Herb Companion magazine led to breaking out the bread machine and making dough for these. I never got to the bruschetta, just ate hot bread. I pigged out on whole wheat angelhair pasta with pesto and tomatoes.

I had to surf some fo the 300-odd projects going in Ravelry to inspire me. We did not have enough Parmesan for pesto. I love to eat it with fresh tomatoes in it. Tomorrow!

Silk Garden is Here

My Silk Garden arrived today. This is color 225, all the way from Canada via a Ravelry destash. I found the Halfobi pattern, then of course, I went in search of Silk Garden. So today is yarn pr0n and gratutious puppy photos. I guess those Canadian smells from the envelope made Cookie and Peanut want to run away with it and sniff my yarn.

Of course, there is something to be said for distractions to keep puppies away from yarn. "This is MY stick."
Mine
"I want your stick too, Mom."
