Sew What

This is an Alexander Henry fabric named, "Sew Wow, Sew Now!" I may have them backwards. Anyway, I thought it was so cute with its sewing implements. Now what can I make-maybe I will attempt a box bag. Again.

Cozy in Pink

I have a Pink Renewal Klean Kanteen water bottle that I am knitting a cover for. It wasn't handy so this is The Firm Hibiscus bottle modeling the Opal Flamingo sock yarn water bottle cozy. When the flowers in the Aerogarden bloom, they will be pink too. The pattern I am using is sort of a combination of a couple, based on Flying Sticks' design. It's on Ravelry, too. I am using size 1 needles. I made it narrower at the top, then increased to get the rest of the cover a little larger.

The Aerogarden has petunia, stock and one tiny phlox plant in the back.

Gardening Afternoon

I don't think I can knit much tonight after working in the garden for a couple of hours. I am not sued to so much bending and stooping, I suppose. First we planted 10 or so tomatoes. Still have one that is kinda small yet. I got one shot before the camera battery died.

Must have been all the shots it took to get the bumblebee in the lavender that did in the battery..It was so heavy that it would fall to the lower part of the the blossoms and make them droop low. Then it would have to climb back up. I was so excited because I thought the Provence was blooming, but it was just a branch of the Spanish lavender draped over it.

The Cherokee Purple, which stayed in the Aerogarden longer because it was puny, is the first tomato plant to bloom.

Guess what? I finally planted the asparagus. These photos were taken using the Nikon D50 with a 35-80mm autofocus zoom, for a 35mm camera, that is about 10 years old. It had to hunt for the focus, but it's fine when it finds it. What I am getting to here is that I could never get this shot using one hand with the bigger, heavier D200.

Wee Tiny Finished Object

Wee Tiny Sock from leftover Ruby Sapphire Luster Merino/Tencel sock yarn in Darlene colorway. This is for the Wee Tiny Sock Swap hosted by Emily.

I started this last nigh, and got past the heel and gusset. I finished the rest at today's meeting of the NW Georgia Knitters Group. We are on Ravelry, if anyone wants to join.

Another memberm Susan, showed me how to spin with my drop spindle today. I did much better than on my own. Maybe I will get the hang of it. I need to try the newest spindle. My yarn does not good quite as good as hers, but way better than my first attempt.
 

I also got some sock yarn in the mail the other day. Just kept forgetting to take a picture of it. Plymouth Sockin Sox with wool, bamboo and nylon. Cranberries and blueberries in moss is how it was described.

Still Life with Fruit, and Yarn and Fiber

Today after I got home and shot 52 pictures to get some blog content, I made lemonade with stevia for the first time.. Thanks, by the way, for all the comments on my lamp. I got it on eBay for $5. I had gotten a bag of lemons some time ago, and I decided to zest and juice them for the freezer. I thought the light from the window looked neat. I had the strawberries with Stonyfield Farm whole milk French Vanilla yogurt. (I wrote this entire post once before, but then accidentally cut it. I am sure that it was much better the first time.)
 

I also made some lemonade. The pool is not ready for swimming, nor is the weather. I just thought the reflection of the clouds  looked nice.

I have gotten some nice mail and UPS packaages lately. Yarn and fiber. Fiber came from Etsy and yarn is Ella Rare Silkience in Aqua. I don't have the details close at hand. I left the plastic on to keep pups' interest down.

Lastly, I got my KnitKit today. It is so nice to have all these tools in one place.

Oh yeah, I washed socks the other day. I had to dig through a couple of camera bags to find my 50mm lens. I found a 35-80mm for the D50, which was probably feling neglected.  I wanted a fast lens for a natural light shot. Next trick is learning how to set aperture priority on new camera, oh well.
