Sewing, or I forgot to take a WIP photo

The batteries are getting low in the camera. I sewed Belvedere another collar bandana today. He has almost outgrown his first collar. Also, he was a lot more interested in playing with other dogs and sniffing everything than posing for photos. Punkin stole his magnolia cone, then Peanut jumped Punkin and when Belvedere went to Punkin's defense Peanut tried to go after Belv. The Nut is about 50 pounds, and B is WAY taller than her.

  

 
Borrrring

 

I was in the Gamecock Gallop at Jacksonville State University this morning. I actually ran part of it and got far and above my best time for any 5K, which is still slow, LOL. It was cold (in the 50s) and misted a little, so I ended up wearing my race shirt over my short sleeved shirt.

Teh Pankness

My new running shoes are PANK. I just wanted to share the pinkness. I have some more 769s in the blue and silver, but I wanted these. I got them at Online Shoes for 10% off the sale price. Too bad I did not have them for the Race for the Cure Oct. 10. They are from NB's Lace up for the Cure Collection, could you tell, LOL? They do kinda coodinate with the magenta petunias. The plants from my office Aerogarden adjusted well to living outside.

  

 
 

One Sleeve Down

I finished one sleeve for Faery Ring the other day. I have been waiting for sunshine to take a photo. Once again, I have a lot of photos to make up for lack of blog posting. Northampton Yarn in Ocean Heather.

It is cold here, for us anyway-highs in the 50s. I went for a walk/run down the road and through the pasture, and my arms got cold.

Before I went grocery shopping, walking or made DH's birthday pound cake, I took photos of the sleeve. Instead of starting the other sleeve, I started the cable strip for the bottom.

Belvedere at the Vet

Belvedere has a swollen knot on his elbow. We imagined all kinds of awful things from research on the Internet and the /Merck Veterinary Manual/. The vet said it was a hygroma, an inflamed bursa at the elbow, and mainly cosmetic. He loves to sleep on hard, cool surfaces, rather than his soft bed. Belv also weighs around 125-wasn't very still on the scale-no lump is slowing him down any. He loves visiting with other people at the vet, and scaring smaller dogs. By the time I got in the door at the vet's following his mad dash to the door, he was licking the face of a woman at the counter, who knew immediately that he was a short-haired Saint pup, and why I had a towel over my shoulder for drool.



Work contnues on the Faery Ring sleeve. I am almost to the shaping at the top, but it keeps raining here whenever I want to take its photo.

Race for the Cure

I drove 200 miles roundtrip to walk 5K. I drove to Birmingham, AL, at the crack of dawn to take part in the Komen North Central Alabama Race for the Cure. I raised $500. I would have to check to see how much was from me! When I went to leave at 5:30 am or so, Belvedere hopped in the car. I think he misses obedience class.

I believe I had my worst time ever for a 5K, somewhere around an hour, but there were thousands of people around me, and I was not in the timed race. I was not last. I have a sinus infection, and I feel really tired now. There was a sea of pink everywhere I looked. The fountain in Linn Park had pink water. Photos from my cell phone. Oh yeah, there was a light rain the whole race, and the sponsor tent area was a sea of mud. I bought a poncho and wore it the whole time.

 

 

 

Yarn and Actual Knitting

I got more sock yarn-one from the Knitting Purls club and one on impulse because it was pretty and autumnal. First, I have progressed on the Faery Ring sleeve.

Belvedere got a bath. The first one since he got over 100 pounds. He looks beautiful.  He just sits or stands and looks pitiful during a bath. He loves the massage and towel off parts, just not the cold water hose. I also had 4 gallons of warm water in 2 watering cans.

First, Faery Ring sleeve in Ocean Heather Northampton from Webs. The white spot is a rock I tried to hold the hem down with.

  

 

Harvest Wind Fingering with a Twist yarn from AL Fiber Dreams, Springvalley Yarns Jessi included a matching stitch marker, too.

  

 

I also got yarn from the Knitting Purls sock yarn club. From Chicks with Sticks in Knitting Purls colorway. It has shine from the bamboo, I suspect.
