One Sleeve Down

I finished one sleeve for Faery Ring the other day. I have been waiting for sunshine to take a photo. Once again, I have a lot of photos to make up for lack of blog posting. Northampton Yarn in Ocean Heather.

It is cold here, for us anyway-highs in the 50s. I went for a walk/run down the road and through the pasture, and my arms got cold.

Before I went grocery shopping, walking or made DH's birthday pound cake, I took photos of the sleeve. Instead of starting the other sleeve, I started the cable strip for the bottom.

New Yarn, New Project

Why, yes, I do have a number of knitting projects started. I got new yarn-a skein of Blue Faced Leicester (BFL) Worsted Heights. I think I might make a cowl. It is from Liberty's Yarns, and the colorway is Dee.

I also started the Faery Ring sweater from Webs Northampton yarn in a dark teal color. The pattern is available free. (.pdf link)

New Projects

I started two new projects since I frogged the cable vest. I started Lisel, mainly because I bought a dang 7mm needle for it. The yarn is Bambbo Fusion from Elann.

 

 

I started the Mondo Cable Cardigan with the burgundy yarn from the vest, because the pattern became available from Bonne Marie Burns yesterday.

I also got yarn today! Concord Pathway Sport yarn from Susan at Slackford Studios. Now I wish I could remember what pattern I wanted it for, It was a Cookie A. one... Susan also included stitch markers.

 

Finally Finished Acer

It needs ends woven in and blocking now, but I wanted to take photos because it is supposed to storm tomorrow.  The pattern is Acer, and the yarn is Nashua Handknits Creative Focus Superwash worsted. The color, Pansy, is a little more purple than it shows here. It has a garter stitch edging, but it is rolling inward here.

The irises and wisteria are blooming, but almost everything else is done.

The irises grow on the fence next to the garden, which does have a couple rows of corn, planted the other day. It is still too cold at night to put tomatoes out. The dark spot is where I dumped some old potting soil.

Finished Cardi

I finished knitting my Summer Open Cardigan, just need to weave in a few ends and wash and block. The pattern is #294 Knitting Pure and Simple. The yarn is TLC Cotton Twist. I went out in the cloudy weather to take photos of it.

The plum tree is about the only thing still blooming. Y'all don't know how close that bumblebee was to my head.

More Knitting and Stashing

I got a new spindle. Not that I needed another one, but this one was beautiful. I keep telling myself it was much less than the wheel on eBay I bid on. This is a Ken Ledbetter spindle with purpleheart, cherry and carved shell. I found it on Judy's site. I fell in love with it because it reminds me of a dogwood bloom

Summer Cardigan, Cont.

I have just reached the sleeve divide on the Summer Open Cardigan, from Knitting Pure and Simple, #294. The yarn is TLC Cotton Twist. Here it is posing with my new Dell XPS laptop.

Spring Risotto and Summer Cardigan

Finding a recipe for Crock-pot risotto really changed my attitude on making it. I had it with roasted butternut squash during the winter, but Spring is time for asparagus, carrots and lemon juice. (Winter will be back on Monday and Tuesday.)

I stayed up to 1 a.m after my cortisone shot. I cast on for the Knitting Pure and Simple Summer Open Cardigan. 294.

Finished Stuff, Mostly

Well, except for the one sleeve, one toe, weaving ends and blocking. I was thinking about Rhiannon socks next. (Without the cuff) What'dya think? Anyway, the Mini Mochi Eye socks (Crystal Palace yarn and pattern.) are finished with the knitting. I finished one sock, and started the next one with the same skein as the first.

The Double Eyelet Bolero (Ravelry pattern) with crochet trim is finished except for ends, button and blocking. I modified the front edging by using ribbing, instead of single crochet. Patons Silk Bamboo, sapphire. The yarn seemed to split worse with the crochet hook, but feels good.

Long neglected Acer.has one sleeve, except for a few rows. Nashua Handknits Creative Focus Superwash in Pansy purple, despite the fact that it looks blue here.

 

Punkin thinks if she is patient, I will give her another treat.

Assorted Stuff

I have finished one sleeve for the bolero with the crochet trim. The yarn is Patons Bamboo Silk

I got some wooden buttons from Wooden Treasures on Etsy.

I also got a wooden shawl pin. South4th Woodcraft is the Etsy seller's name.

The tomato plants had to come out of the Aerogarden. They are all bent over from being cramped by the lights.
