More Assorted Stuff

I got my first order of CJ Kopec yarn, which I have heard about, but never ordered. This is Magic colorway in alpaca/merino/silk blend worsted. It is soooo soft.

Here is the toddler hat I crocheted for a 1-year old girl. The pattern is Angie, and this is the Kraemer Perfection worsted yarn. The darker pink  trim is Caron Simply Soft.

Assorted Stuff

I have finished one sleeve for the bolero with the crochet trim. The yarn is Patons Bamboo Silk

I got some wooden buttons from Wooden Treasures on Etsy.

I also got a wooden shawl pin. South4th Woodcraft is the Etsy seller's name.

The tomato plants had to come out of the Aerogarden. They are all bent over from being cramped by the lights.

I Have Too Been Knitting

Crocheting, even. In Las Vegas.  I finished the body of the raglan Double Eyelet Bolero (Ravelry) and have some done on the second Mini Mochi Eye Sock in Tapestry Rainbow. I kept disturbing the ladybug during my photo shoot. I have some Vegas photos here

The vet had to put Muffin down yesterday.  She had a bad intestinal infection and the bacteria caused pneumonia as well. She lost much weight and refused to eat.  DH called every day from Las Vegas to check on her and to approve various treatments. She spent a week at the vet on IVs while he tried various antibiotics. He thought she might have had it for a while, as she always seemed to have tummy trouble. We might be able to get another white faced pup.

Little Cup of Cocoa

I crocheted a cup of cocoa and a cookie. I got this pattern last year from Etsy. I just got the notion to make it. I look at amigurumi patterns and think they will be harder to make than they are. This was fun, as long I used my handy-dandy crochet stitch markers. (They have open-ended hooks for moving.)

Katie's blog contest, that is. I have been reading her blog, Daily Thread,  for a few years. I got a package from Katie today in the mail that had an advance copy of the the book Knit Two, the sequel to The Friday Night Knitting Club, a tin of Pineapple Ginger green tea (sounds interesting) and yarn! Purple Opal Mozaik. I don't have any of that. It's purty. It is dark and rainy outside, so photos are blah.

UPS brought Dave today. Dave is a laptop table from Ikea. They named him/it. I prefer hot laptops not be in my lap, and see the itty bitty Acer netbook screen better with a table. Alas. no pink tables. Black looks cool. DH had to help with assembly, and he did the hardest part, the bolt attaching the leg to the tabletop. I got some neat Valori Wells fabric to make the netbook a sleeve and messenger bag. Still need the pattern to arrive.

Also, I told my coworker I would make her a tam to help use up some of my stash yarn. This is the Retro Rings Tam from Jaybird Designs. Note the Halloween Cactus blooming.

Monkeying Around

So I came across this CUTE pattern on Etsy for a crocheted tape measure cozy. Yes, I do knit. I worked on other projects today at a meeting of the NW GA Knitters Group. I did mostly show and tell, though. We have not seen each other and our projects in several months.

This pattern is from SherryCrochets.com One ear covers the end of the tape measure. So cute!  She has lots of other cute things in her shop, too. I used Wool-Ease I found at Michaels, after discovering Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby had none. W*mart had NO Lion Brand at all.

Crocheting and Waiting for Snow

DH just said my blog was boring, and I needed to post. Well, I drove home through a blizzard the other day, with snowflakes swirling everywhere.. I was in Montgomery for a meeting, a couple-three hours south of here. It was sleeting, all the way across Alabama, until about 1 hour from home, it started snowing hard. Of course, I had thought as I left, I don't need a camera. DH laughed at me when I bought bread and milk on Tuesday.  I drove home from the library very slowly. Anyway, it is supposed to snow again after midnight tonight. We might get 1-2 inches.

Hey ya'll, look at this! DH says that is a redneck's last words.  Yes, I did watch a lot of Paula Deen on the Food Network, when I wasn't watching old Law & Order episodes. Anyway, here is my Amigurumi Lambie-Pie (the patterin is actually called Little Lambkins). Isn't he cute? Before and after. Some assembly required. Isn't it cute. I saw it in the SWTC newletter. The taupe is Karaoke, and the fleece is Bamboo Feather. You can't see nothin' with that eyelash! I dunno how many stitches I has.  I learned to crochet in Girl Scouts when I was 12, but I learned something new, the Magic Circle, doing Amigurumi, using Planet June's tutorial, (would link but I can't find the blog right now. Something else comes up)  I ordered Mr. Funky's Super Crochet Wonderful for the library.
