Siesta Still Not Finished

I finished the bottom of Siesta, then I discovered applied cable. I added it to a sleeve, then I ripped out the bottom ribbing and started on the bottom in appled cable. It is very similar to applied i-cord. I have one sleeve and the hem to go to be finished with Siesta from Knotions online mag in Ella Rae Silkience in aqua.

 

 

 

I started off my day with a BLT. DH and I split a Brandy Boy tomato.

The GardenSoy edamame from the Univerity of Illinois are growing like, uh, Belvedere

 

The Aerogarden has produced several lettuce crops. For the winter, we have an upgrade to make it taller for heirloom tomatoes.

The baby got a new bed. My SIL brought Belvedere an extra large sized doggie bed. This is the first time he has really used it. She also forgot her dog's octopus

 

Belvedere is 16 weeks old and weighs 63.8 pounds. I wonder when he will grow into his ears and tail/

Almost Done

I have been plugging allong on Siesta. I forgot the waist shaping, so I ignored that part. It is a little loose, but it will be cooler in the Alabama summer, right? Ella Rae Silkience in Aqua, Siesta tee from Knotions.I followed Susan's example and added ribbing at the bottom. I will try the single crochet around the neck. I got a white camisole to wear under it. I am in the don't wanna do applied i-cord. However, I have thought about knitting a cable edge for the sleeves, but don't want to sew it on. They may have ribbing as well.

More Siesta, Again

Well, it is the only project that I have been working on. It is a pretty easy knit, once I got over the no-stitch symbols on the chart. Once the cable section is done, it is just knitting in the round. I have been been working on it at lunch and not getting to it at home much. Last night I had to rip out a few rows to get back on track. Belvedere walked up to the sofa one night and picked up my skein of Ella Rae Silkience yarn in his mouth. The yarn is aqua-it's cloudy outside. You have to pry his jaws apart to get things out. He felted one of my wool slippers a little more recently, and dragged a wool sweater on the floor. Yes, I need to put stuff up. I have not been walking outside since Tuesday, when I got dehydrated, which triggers migraines. DH took Belvedere to a hooman birthday party with his flag bandana, toys, dishes, food and treats.

 

 

I saw these cute Teva sandals with cork soles on eBay. They came in he mail today/

Yet More Siesta

I am still working on Siesta. Progress is slow due to resting my thumb tendon and limiting time knitting. I have gotten to the second chart, where the cables move out toward the sides. I think every photo of this sweater looks like a different color. It is a little bluer in real life.

 

Today I got a prize in the mail! I won a blog contest at This Momma Cooks!: On a Diet. I won 4 4-packs of Knudsen Sparkling Essence flavored water. I have already had a blueberry one. This is great because I drink seltzer anyway, and it is great to have such different flavors. Besides the blueberry, I also got lemon, mint, and cucumber. In addition, I got a magnet in the shape of a bottle of juice and a ChicoBag that fits in a little bitty Knudsen logo bag. Thanks, Knudsen and Anne-Marie!

More Knitting

I have worked a little more on Siesta. My tendenitis is much better with the cortisone pills, no shot needed yet.

I have been working on the Siesta tee in Ella Rae Silkience, and have reached the join.

Today in my birthday-consider donating for the Komen Race for the Cure-on my left sidebar.I got some books from my sister and DH. I also made myself a chocolate pound cake from a Cooking Light recipe-I added cocoa to it.

Mi Siesta

So I have been knitting a little. The process is a little slower and more painful, because I cut my left index finger and the bite Belvedere gave me on my right thumb has not healed and might get fluid on my yarn. Anyway, here is my progress on Siesta. Also, posting from the Typepad beta interface is strange. Looks a bit Word-Press-like, to me. Ella Rae Silkience yarn in aqua.

 

Do we want another gratuitous puppy picture? Belvedere likes to chew on the bed too.

Finally Finished Acer

It needs ends woven in and blocking now, but I wanted to take photos because it is supposed to storm tomorrow.  The pattern is Acer, and the yarn is Nashua Handknits Creative Focus Superwash worsted. The color, Pansy, is a little more purple than it shows here. It has a garter stitch edging, but it is rolling inward here.

The irises and wisteria are blooming, but almost everything else is done.

The irises grow on the fence next to the garden, which does have a couple rows of corn, planted the other day. It is still too cold at night to put tomatoes out. The dark spot is where I dumped some old potting soil.

More Knitting and Stashing

I got a new spindle. Not that I needed another one, but this one was beautiful. I keep telling myself it was much less than the wheel on eBay I bid on. This is a Ken Ledbetter spindle with purpleheart, cherry and carved shell. I found it on Judy's site. I fell in love with it because it reminds me of a dogwood bloom

Spring Risotto and Summer Cardigan

Finding a recipe for Crock-pot risotto really changed my attitude on making it. I had it with roasted butternut squash during the winter, but Spring is time for asparagus, carrots and lemon juice. (Winter will be back on Monday and Tuesday.)

I stayed up to 1 a.m after my cortisone shot. I cast on for the Knitting Pure and Simple Summer Open Cardigan. 294.
